Intro to Lace Knitting with a Lovely Shawl
This lace class is perfect for the beginner knitter who wants to try their hand at lace. Ambah O’Brien’s pretty Sherbet Fizz shawl is designed very cleverly from the top down and center out. No matter what weight of yarn you choose, the shawls all start the same.
In this three session class, students will be taught the following skills:
-the importance of LOOSELY kfb increasing on the edge
-m1L and m1R, a basic lace motif
-working from a chart
-the magic of blocking

| Skill Details: | Students should know how to knit and purl, and be familiar with “reading” their stitches. No previous experience with lace knitting is required! |
| Materials Included: | Ambah O’Brien’s Sherbet Fizz Shawl pattern will be downloaded into each student's Ravelery account, along with a paper copy. |
| Requirements: | We recommend two skeins of Wonderland Cotton Kiss and US8 needles to make the DK size. Start with 24” circulars, knowing you’ll want a much longer cable as your shawl grows. Cross that bridge when you come to it. You’ll need lots and lots of markers. |
