Advanced Knitting Techniques: Texture Diversity
There’s really only one stitch in knitting (purling is just the knit stitch in reverse).
And yet, there are endless combinations which raise the surface of the fabric, yielding fascinating textures. This four session class will use the Braids and Bobbles hat by Carolyn Doe (https://www.ravelry.com/
- how to create a chart from written instructions
- the crochet provisional cast on
- forming cables without a cable needle
- fixing mis-twisted cables or mis-aligned textures
- making bobbles by knitting backwards
- three-needle bind off
- magic loop technique to finish the hat crown decreases
NOTE: This is NOT a learn to cable class. Participants (age 18+) must know how to knit and purl and be familiar with “reading” their knitting.
