Gingersnap Cardigan

Time to put your skills to work!  We will make a toddler- sized (1T) cardigan to cover the basics.  In these three sessions, we will manage color changes and learn some basic increases and decreases to shape the neckline and sleeves.  We’ll make eyelet buttonholes and learn to pick up stitches for the collar.  We’ll learn to sew seams.  And it’ll all happen quick because the finished sweater is so adorably small!

Students should download their own free copy of the Gingersnap pattern, by Kristen Rettig

Pre-requisites:  This is not a “learn to knit” class.  Students should already be comfortable with knit and purl stitches (both garter and stockinette stitches).

Materials:  Sublime Extra Fine Merino Worsted in three colors (2 skeins of A and one each of B and C), locking stitch markers, tapestry needle,  16” - US 5 and 7 needles.  Once your sweater is done, you’ll need six 1/2" buttons.  Yarn used for class must be purchased at the shop.

Dates:  Thursdays, July 11, July 25 and August 8, 2024 from 6-8pm.  (Please note, the two weeks in between classes are to allow time to finish your homework to be ready for the next session.)
