Introduction to Sweater Knitting

Instruction will be divided into four classes:

February 26th - Melissa will discuss fit, 
swatching, and best practices.

March 4th - she’ll guide you through wrap and turn 
short rows.
March 11th  - she’ll help you divide for the sleeves and body.

March 25th  - you’ll work through picking up sleeve stitches and discuss finishing.

If you want some extra guidance at any point, Melissa has coaching sessions on Tuesday nights from 6-7:30 pm available on an as-needed basis.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, knit two together and SSK.
Requirements: Pattern is not included in the cost of the class. Our staff will be happy to add the purchase of the pattern through Ravelry for you when you come in to select your yarn for the project. Supplies Needed: - US 4 (3.5 mm) 16" (40cm) and 32" (80 cm) circular needle for neck, body, and sleeve ribbing - Small circumference US 4 (3.5 mm) for sleeve ribbing if not using magic loop (optional) - US 6 (4.0 mm) 16" (40cm), 24" (60 cm) and 32" (80cm) for body and sleeves - Small circumference US 6 (4.0 mm) for sleeves if not using magic loop (optional) - Close-able stitch markers in different colors - Waste yarn or purl strings - Tapestry needle - 880-1750 yards of DK weight yarn to meet 21stitches x 32 row gauge
